Skotland og højlandet i særdeleshed har nogle af de bedste mountainbike hvor som helst.
Lairg er godt placeret for at give entusiaster adgang til meget af dette ekstraordinære terræn. Der er miles af skovbrug og hede spor til rådighed for at udforske.

Kyle of Sutherland Trails ligger lige syd for Lairg og ligger på hver side af Kyle, som ligger cirka 10 minutters kørsel fra Lairg.
Landskabet, som med alle highland stier, er betagende og stierne tilbyder terræn til at teste de mest dyktige af rytteren.
Carbisdale tilbyder lettere mountainbike ridning og tilbyder kortere ruter end Balblair, men tilbyder stadig en udfordrende ridning både teknisk og fitness.
På Balblair er der teknisk to mountainbike stier, en blå og en sort løbe. Den blå løbe er imidlertid virkelig begyndelsen og slutningen af den svarte løb med et link for at forkorte turen til ca. 3 km. Den sorte mountainbike løbe har et valg på 7,5 Km eller 11 Km. Den sorte rute er en krævende tur med masser af opbakningslister og tekniske rock- og north shore-funktioner. Klipper og nordkysten er meget grippy så lad ikke lidt nedbør sætte dig af.

CYCLING
You’ll find hundreds of kilometers of paved and off-road riding trails arounf Lairg. Scotland and the Highlands in particular, have some of the best mountain biking anywhere.
Lairg is well placed to allow enthusiasts access to much of this exceptional terrain. There are miles of forestry and moorland tracks available to explore.
There is a very laid-back 'ride-anywhere' philosophy in Scotland, the mountains and moors are there for the riding. Please may we ask that you always follow the Access Code and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code?
Make sure you wear protective gear.
HIKING
Bring your hiking poles, sturdy shoes and plenty of high-energy foods, because once you get started walking the local hiking trails, you aren’t going to want to stop.
The beaches along the coast of Scotland are amongst the most breathtaking and beautiful in Europe.
Their character and attraction changes throughout the seasons, so try and visit whatever the time of year.
TOURING
The old crofting county of Sutherland is situated in the far Northern Highlands of Scotland. It is bordered to the South by the county of Ross-shire, and to the North-East by the county of Caithness. With a population of just over 13,000 people living in an area covering 2,300 square miles, Sutherland is one of the remotest and sparsely populated, yet beautiful, parts of Scotland. It was the early Vikings who came to Caithness that named everything to the south "The Southlands" which is how Sutherland came by it's name.
